Gen. 6-8
Yes, that is a lot of reading over yet another very familiar story. We can read this story and discover different things about it each time. All the pieces of the puzzle had to line up, all the details had to be carried out. A master plan from God given to Noah. You could read this story and see how, through God, you can accomplish anything.
We have all seen the familiar quote "Professionals built the Titanic, amateurs built the ark." It is true in a sense that Noah on his own was not a professional. However, he let God work in His way and in His will. That is a lot of faith and trust in the Master Builder. Not only that, we see Noah and his family were delivered after 40 days of trial. Actually, it's a lot longer than 40 days if you count building the ark, the flood, and waiting for the water to go down. The hope we have here is that God can use us, and he will deliver us.
We all go through struggles, trails, and heartache, and sometimes they seem to last forever. We have hope that one day we will be delivered. God already delivered us from sins with the death of His son. It may not come on our time or our schedules, but He has promised us we will be delivered. We must try and wait. Psalm 46:10 tells us to "Be still, and know that I am God". What hope, what a promise we have. I am thankful he delivered us from sin and will deliver us from our struggles, pain, heartache, and illness.
