Luke 10:38-41
We all know this story very well. We see Martha being busy and Mary listening to Jesus. We, too, can get caught up and distracted. I have been blessed to be able to minister in many different ways: youth, children, choir, deacon, preaching, spreading the Gospel, cleaning, setting up chairs, widows, singles, men, women, senior adults, college and career, VBS, etc, etc. I enjoy helping where I can as long as I feel God can be glorified and people are growing close to Him.
However, I know I need my time with Christ, just as Mary did. We all have to find time to make it a priority. For me, it has been doing this devo challenge. I know I can be better at what time I do it or how I do it. But I enjoy my time with Him. I know we can get really busy sometimes or not use our time wisely. I pray that He will continue to grow me and draw me and you near Him each and every day. That is what He desires. If we are not sitting down with Him, then how can we effectively minister to others when we are spiritually dry and empty?
