Gen 12-15
Yes, more reading today. But the main focus will be Gen 15 verse 5. In reading Genesis, and other parts of the Bible, I have always wondered what it might be like to have the kind of relationship some of them had with God or Jesus. I really like how God takes Abram outside...to "Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them."
I'm sure we all have been out into a pitch dark place and looked up to see the stars. It is truly a beautiful and peaceful time to see so much light coming from above. I think it's a good reminder of what is above, along with a sunrise and a sunset. God has made some beautiful things for us to take in and enjoy.
He also gave us something beautiful with His love and His desire to have a relationship with us. God desired a relationship from us in the beginning. In the New Testament, it is God having relationship with others through His Son, to the disciples, to Paul, and those he healed and spoke to. We even see where his Son goes off to have a personal time with his Father.
Having a relationship with our Lord is still beautiful today. We can still see the stars and the things of this world He made for us to enjoy. The friendships He gives us with others. The most beautiful thing for us is to have that relationship with Him. I didn't just do these devos for others. I have enjoyed the growth I have received, the challenges I have felt. I'm not just trying to encourage you and see you challenged. I share my struggles, encouragement, desires, and hopes with you that you may gain insight and knowledge of our Lord. As I always state, I walk as you walk. I cannot achieve anything without the relationship of Christ and His grace in my life.
